Music and Worship.  Music and Mission.  Music and Community.

Calvary Baptist Church enjoys a rich history of excellence in music, and today we hold onto that model as our standard for growth.  Calvary’s commitment to music is evident the moment you enter our sanctuary—the 55-rank Möller / Wicks organ is a prominent feature in our worship space.  Music is for everyone at Calvary, whether child or senior adult, whether rehearsing with the Sanctuary Choir, or participating in worship as a congregant, or attending a concert.  Although our programming is rooted in the classical tradition, we are open, fearless and creative in our approach, trying something new whenever we can while treasuring the comfort of the familiar.

Throughout each year’s rotation of events, we offer something for just about everyone.  Whether in worship on a Sunday morning or attending a Calvary Presents community concert, you can enjoy a wide range of musical expression at CBC—classical to bluegrass, unaccompanied solo voice to choir with orchestra, African drums to violin, Handel’s Messiah to Schwartz’s Godspell

We hold firm to a standard of excellence here on the corner of 8th and H Streets, and trust that whatever music we make ourselves or present as host, any visitor or returning member of the Calvary family will never be disappointed in the music they find here.  In giving our best as participants in music, we experience both the best of our humanity and the grace of God among us.  We welcome you to share in the alchemical experience of music at Calvary DC.
