Stewardship

Stewardship: it’s a great opportunity to invest in the life and health of our community.  Here’s a quick run-down of how you can give critical financial support to the work of God at Calvary:

  1. Write a check or place cash in the offering plate as it comes around each Sunday in worship. If you give cash and would like your contribution to be noted in our records, be sure to put your money in an offering envelope with your name on it. These envelopes are available in the pews, or the church office would be happy to provide you with your own personal box of giving envelopes.
  2. Send a check through the mail to the church office. The church office is happy to receive offerings during the week and our financial office will note them in our tracking system.
  3. Visit our online giving portal and make a credit card contribution. Church administrator Paul Rosstead can personally help you set up a regular, recurring credit card charge, but you’ll need to call or email him at the church office to authorize that arrangement. Please note that the church pays a 3% fee to the credit card company for gifts given in this manner.
  4. We now offer Direct Debit - please contact Paul Rosstead for details, or print the Direct Debit authorizaion form, complete, sign and return to the church office.
  5. If you use online banking, you can easily arrange with your bank to make a one-time or recurring financial gift by having the bank issue a check directly to the church.

Out of the four giving options just listed, number five is the one we prefer in the church office. It’s easier administratively; it saves the church money; it helps you remember to give regularly; and automatic giving continues even when holiday weekends or snow days impact worship attendance. Please use whichever method of giving works best for you, however. Our church staff is happy to help with any questions or concerns that arise as you begin the process of regular financial stewardship.

Remember, also that you will receive regular, quarterly giving statements, as well as a year end Charitable Gift statement for tax purposes, that reflect your pledge amount for the year along with any actual gifts we can track.
